The range of different types of Halloween activities for kids is huge. When Halloween gets closer there are so many different things that you can do with kids. There are Halloween games that the kids can play, Halloween crafts they can do, Halloween food that they can make and pumpkin activities to do.

If you are looking for Halloween activities for kids you might consider different types of games that the kids can play. Halloween games aren’t just for parties. There are lots of games that can be played by two or three kids at home. One great Halloween activity for kids is to get them making their own games. Kids can make a Halloween board game or a Halloween bingo game. They can also make a card game with pairs of matching cards and play the game like the game of concentration. The best part about making a Halloween game is that kids can have fun making the game and then have even more fun playing the game.

Kids might like to try making their own Halloween board game. They can draw a track that zigzags across the board and then decorate it with Halloween characters. The track can be divided into spaces and each space can be numbered. Some spaces might have a reward written on them and some might have a hazard on them. The reward might be something like, ‘The ghost that caught you is friendly. Go forward 3 spaces’. The hazard might say, ‘The vampire has caught you. Miss a turn.’ The track can start a the Haunted House and go to your house.

There are also many different Halloween crafts that kids can make. They can create cards for their friends or they can create decorations. Kids can make ghosts, bats or spiders to decorate the house or to decorate outside the house. They can also create masks that might even form part of their Halloween costume.

A simple Halloween craft is to make spiders with egg cartons painted black and pipe cleaners for the spider legs. Add red eyes and you have a simple Halloween decoration. Another simple craft is to paint a paper plate orange and cut out a pumpkin face. Add a green stem to the top and some elastic string to tie it and you have a pumpkin mask.
There are also some tasty Halloween activities for kids that you might like to try. The kids might enjoy doing some cooking and creating some Halloween food. They could create their own recipes or you can search for Halloween recipes online. They can make gooey treats with jelly, cut faces out of sandwiches or make a revolting looking brew to drink.

Of course it isn’t Halloween without a few pumpkins around the place. Many Halloween activities for kids involve pumpkin carving but this isn’t all that you can do with pumpkins. Pumpkin carving is great Halloween craft but if the kids are too little to try this, they might be able to try pumpkin painting instead. They can paint faces on the pumpkin instead of carving the pumpkin.

There are lots of different Halloween activities for kids that you can use to keep kids busy at Halloween. Try some Halloween crafts. Try some Halloween games and try some Halloween cooking.

What Sort of Party Supplies and Halloween Decorations Should You Use for Your Party?

Halloween is a fun and adventurous time of year and what better way to celebrate it than planning a party? So where should we begin? More than any other aspects of the party, Halloween decorations and party supplies make the themed party pop. You will have to consider what sort of party you are planning and what guests will attend before you start however. Party supplies for each of these groups would consist of disposable plates, silverware, napkins and themed gift bags for any goodies you might want to pass out. Costume parties can work for each of these groups as well.

Small Children: For small children you will want to keep spooky party supplies to a minimum and stick to lighter fair with a cute tone. This means Halloween decorations that have been softened from their normally ghoulish tone to better suit the more delicate demeanor of smaller children. You can use jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, spiders, and witches as long as they seem friendly. This is also the right kind of party for themed cakes, snacks and punch that is easily managed. You may want to gather together a few adults and have the children go around the room getting different treats from each person, giving them a controlled trick or treat. Encourage the children to wear costumes and you could also have a little costume contest with prizes if there are enough children.

Older Children and Family Parties: For a group that contains children age 10 up to about 12 or 13 you can use more spooky party supplies. You’ll want to find a theme somewhere between that of the younger children and the teens. Kids this age like a good scare as long as it’s not too extreme so you could have a few spooky Halloween decorations along with games and a haunted house. Kids this age would also be interested in themed foods but might be more inclined to items that are a bit more gruesome or gooey. Serving chocolate pudding with gummy worms mixed in or sponge cakes with raspberry filling (dressing the cakes up as if they are bugs could add to the fun) might appeal.

Adults and Teens: For adults and teens your Halloween decorations could be subtle like crepe paper and banners or it could be much more grown up items like gruesome body parts or flirty ghouls. This is the party that can involve music, dancing, liquor (for the grown-ups) and bigger scares. Teens can be a hard bunch to work with, they’re often a bit fussy about being too kiddy so offering them a chance to help do the planning is your best bet. Party supplies can include some good music, horror films, snacks and pizza if they’d rather have a smaller more relaxed affair. For adults the party can go as big as you’d like, offering simple fair like chips, hors de oeuvres and sweets for the guests to nibble on over the course of the night. Halloween decorations can be scattered around the house and the outside, offering a fun evening to all.

The halloween decoration you choose can make or break your Halloween party. Getting all your party supplies and decorations ahead of time will ensure you have a “Boo-tiful” time.
