A Halloween decoration that has a huge significance to the celebration of Halloween is a Halloween pumpkin. In every Halloween party or gathering, you can surely see a Halloween pumpkin hanging anywhere outside the garden or inside the house. Many of us love to decorate and create Halloween designs during Halloween and surely we always think of having a Halloween pumpkin around to make our night more fun and unforgettable.

Halloween pumpkin carving is a known craft that is practiced by those who have artistic abilities and are endowed with extraordinary skills in producing crafts using their hands. But then, even ordinary people like us can produce our own Halloween pumpkin if we are mindful of the essential things that should be considered in producing a Halloween pumpkin.

First, it is important to study the materials we will use. Know the right pumpkin carving stencil that you can use for your pumpkin depending on its size. There are small stencils for small pumpkins and bigger stencils for a bigger pumpkin but it will depend on the shape of the pumpkin. For beginners, it is better to get a medium-size pumpkin so it won’t be too difficult to carve.

Next, find a nice Halloween carving design that you can follow. If you are a starter, start with a simple Halloween pattern then after mastering it you can move on to more difficult ones. You can find many Halloween pumpkin carving patterns online or you can ask from friends who also like to carve pumpkins.

After cutting up your pumpkin, you can try to decorate or use any object or painting materials to add more color and design to it. You can use a spray paint to color your pumpkin because spray paints are easier to use and you can finish painting fast.

When you’ve tried out several patterns for sure you will master the craft and can create and decorate more wonderful Halloween pumpkins that you set in different points in your house especially if you are hosting a Halloween party. You can also add lights inside your pumpkin to make it look more wonderful and attractive.

Have fun making your own Halloween pumpkin. Study the craft and surely in no time you’ll master producing a wonderful Halloween pumpkin and you can even teach your friends how to do it.

Kids Halloween Activities â Keep Kids Busy This Halloween

There are many different kids Halloween activities that you can use to keep kids busy in the lead up to Halloween. As Halloween gets closer kids will get more and more excited so having a few activities to keep them occupy might also make your life a little quieter.

There are loads of different kids Halloween activities that you can consider using with the kids. You could try Halloween crafts, creating Halloween decorations, Halloween games, Halloween puzzles, pumpkin carving, pumpkin painting or Halloween cooking.

If you decide to do Halloween crafts, consider having the kids make something that will also double as Halloween decorations. That way the kids can enjoy creating their item and then continue to enjoy as it is displayed as part of the Halloween decorations. Kids can create Halloween wreaths, with dead twigs, spiders and artificial webs. They can also make ghosts to hang inside or to hang outside from trees. Bats and spiders can be made to hang about also. Tombstones are also good for decorating outside.

Of course the favorite kids Halloween activities are often those that work with pumpkins or make pumpkins. Kids can have a go at pumpkin carving to make Jack O’ Lanterns but will of course require lots of supervision for this one. Pumpkins can be used for other things also so consider painting pumpkins to decorate them instead. Kids can also have a go at making pumpkins with paper plates or clay.

Halloween cooking is another fun kids Halloween activity that will keep kids busy and may also bring out their creative side. Try giving them the name of a food and see how creative they can be at coming up with a recipe. Ask them to create Yummy Babies Fingers, Witches’ Brew, Eyeball Surprise or Bat Wings. If they don’t come up with their own recipes to create then search online for Halloween recipes.

If you want some quiet time as Halloween approaches, then there are some quiet kids Halloween activities that will keep them busy and occupied. Try a Halloween puzzle. You can search online or it is fun to make your own. Make a Halloween word find by drawing a grid and putting Halloween words into it. List the words underneath and then fill the empty space with other letters.

Another great Halloween puzzle is to find Halloween riddles and write each riddle on a card and then each answer a separate card. Kids can the have a go at matching the riddles to the answers. This also makes a great Halloween game. It can be played the concentration game where all cards are turned face down and players take turns at turning over two cards and trying to make a match. Halloween Riddle Match Up makes a fun Halloween game that all of the family can enjoy.

Keeping excited kids busy and happy in the lead up to Halloween is easy if you have a few kids Halloween activities planned. Some of them will require you to you supervise the kids but there are many that the kids can do on their own.

Halloween Decorations at the Fairless HIlls Garden Center

Fairless Hills Garden Center (FHGC) has been around for more than 10 years providing the Lower Bucks County area with the best quality and lowest prices on all of their gardening needs. Starting out with a small shed and only a few tables stocked with plants, over the years we have expanded. First by pushing back and clearing out the unused area around the basin and erected tents to house new items. During the summer/fall of 2007. We added greenhouse tents, stonework & paved walkways where our tents and mulched/dirt walkways used to be. We’ve transformed our basin into a beautiful display area by grading and reseeding it. The construction of a stone retaining wall served to finish off the basin and allow us to build up where a hill used to be. Not only is this safer for all of our customers, but allows us more room to showcase our quality products. Patrons who have been visiting us for awhile will notice that, while we have changed a lot over the years, our prices are still the best in the area and have remained low. When we started out, FHGC was only open during the summer; our hours now start in the Spring and span through December until Christmas Eve. We provide our customers with not only plants and accessories, but holiday decor as well. We carry spring and summer themed decor, including flags & statuary. On the fall we stock up on scarecrows of all shapes and sizes, as well as many different kinds of pumpkins and gourds with prices you won’t believe! Halloween …

Halloween Decorations in the Classroom

There are no more than 40 days left till Halloween but you hardly have a minute to think about all the productions, decorations and costumes for children as well as trying to organise your own Halloween party. We thought you might want some ideas of activities to ease you into the festive day with a minimum of work and fantastic results.
Halloween Wrapping Paper and Treat Bag
Making Halloween wrapping paper using your school art package couldn’t be easier. You will need: some examples of different types of paper to show the children and images from the internet to use (optional).
All you need to do is to design your pattern or picture and then use the titling tool (Fresco, Colour Magic) and tile it (Dazzle, Dazzle Plus, Dazzle 03 Granada Colours, Revelation Natural Art). For younger pupils or those with special needs you can restrict the number of tools and the palette available, or use stamps. For pupils who cannot use the select area tool you can make cardboard frames and move them around the screen to allow them to select an area. You can do this using an image of a pumpkin which was then tiled and flipped or you can make a treat bag using a net made from a bought bag. For a pumpkin treat bag you will need: Green tempera paint, Orange tempera paint, Sponge, Lunch bag, soap and water. All you have to do is apply orange paint to the palm of a hand with a sponge, press palm onto the paper bag and using your index finger and green paint, make stem and leaves on the pumpkins.
Make a Halloween Card or Table Cloth
Why not design a Halloween card to send to parents or friends using a pumpkin or a witch image as your inspiration? You need to find images of pumpkins, witches or ghosts. Teach your children to look at the pictures and notice the colours and shapes involved. Using the spray brush in the art package and lines of colour, create the effect you want. Talk about the intensity and mix of colours. Add a wash and ask if they think the effect is better. Show them that they can ‘undo’ an effect to take it back to the original. Add black shapes from the toolbar to simulate the ghosts. When they are happy about the effect add stars to make a star lighted decoration.
You can also make a Halloween table cloth using: White paper table cloth, Stickers, Colored Markers and Halloween pictures. The instructions are: Take an orange paper tablecloth and draw various Halloween ghosts on it.
